Monday November 2, 2015 7:00 P.M.


          The Regular Meeting of the Marble Rock City Council was called to order with Mayor Engelhardt presiding with Councilpersons Ackley, Marzen, Schmidt, Schriever, and Wells. One citizen was present. Mayor Engelhardt led the Pledge of Allegiance.


          Moved Marzen/seconded Ackley to approval of agenda with the addition of City Dump under Maintenance items. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Moved Schriever/seconded Schmidt to depart from agenda to accommodate guest. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Nancy Schriever spoke to the council about Dave Wells’s dogs getting out and killing two of her cats. The council decided to have the clerk write a letter to Mr. Wells. The Mayor will also be speaking with him about the City Ordinances.


          Moved Ackley/seconded Wells to return to the agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to accept the minutes October 5, 2015 regular Meeting. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Moved Wells/seconded Ackley to approve the monthly reports. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Income for the month of October totaled $128,352.16 which includes:  General Fund $25,185.27, Library Fund $3,343.13, Employee Benefits $12,024.84, Road Revenue Fund $3,085.08, TIF Fund $76,612.14, Debt Service $0.00, Landfill-Garbage/Recycling Fund $1,182.83, Sewer Revenue Fund $2,410.41, Water Revenue Fund $4,508.46.


          Moved Ackley/seconded Schmidt to approve the claims. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried. Total of all city claims were $12,416.72.

MAYOR’S REPORT: The Mayor attended a 28E agreement meeting with the county. Everything will remain the same. The new truck has been ordered for the City.


Committee Reports: Councilman Ackley went to a NIACOG meeting and talked about looking into some housing grants for the City.


          Councilman Schriever attended a Community Center meeting. They are getting a quote done for the bathrooms to be redone. They also talked about their book keeping and audits.


          Moved /seconded to pass the second and third reading of the Ordinance 02-2015 Amending the Code of Ordinances of the City of Marble Rock Iowa, By Amending Existing Sewer Rates and Allowing For an Annual Increase For Said Services. Roll: Ayes- Ackley, Marzen, Schmidt, Schriever, Wells. All. Carried.


          Moved Ackley/seconded Wells to have Santa come to the Library on Saturday December 12th or the 19th, which ever works for both parties. The time will be set at a later date. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.


          Moved Ackley/seconded Schmidt to adjourn the meeting at 7:35p.m. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
