REGULAR MEETING

OF THE

MARBLE ROCK CITY COUNCIL

Monday December 5, 2016 7:00 P.M.

 

          The Regular Meeting of the Marble Rock City Council was called to order with Mayor Engelhardt presiding with Councilpersons Ackley, Marzen, Schmidt, C. Schriever, and T. Schriever. Mayor Engelhardt led the Pledge of Allegiance. Various Citizens were present.

 

          Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to approve agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded Schmidt to depart from the agenda to accommodate guests. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

         

          Bob Keiper and Tracy Merfeld spoke on behave of the Park Board. They will be having their Park Board meetings the last Tuesday of every month at Whitetails at 7p.m.. This will be January through November. There will not be a meeting in December. They also informed the council that they will be applying for some grants to help improve the City parks.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to return to the agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded C. Schriever to accept the minutes November 7, 2016 regular Meeting as amended. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

           Moved Ackley/seconded Schmidt to approve the monthly reports. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

Income for the month of November totaled $168,042.20 which includes:  General Fund $33,020.39, Library Fund $16,618.56, Employee Benefits $11,581.48, Road Revenue Fund $10,762.04, TIF Fund $80,718.87, Landfill-Garbage/Recycling Fund $1,909.37,Sewer Revenue Fund $4,858.01, Water Revenue Fund $8,573.48.

          MAYOR’S REPORT: There had been some controversy about individuals decorating the Main St. Park, who are not members of the Park Board. The Mayor has given Susan Nelson and Mary Brinkman permission to decorate the park. He has also given Susan Nelson permission to pull any weeds in the planter, or in any park for that matter.

          There were several junk car letters sent out to Citizens in town.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded C. Schriever to Amend Ordinance 02-2016 to add there be a three year renewal on all golf cart and atv/utv permits, after review of the council. 1st reading will be at next month’s meeting. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to have January’s meeting January 4th at 7p.m. at City Hall. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

          Moved Ackley/seconded C. Schriever to keep the current health insurance policy for city employees and review it again next year. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.  

           

          Other items discussed: Christmas lights will be put up as soon as possible.
