REGULAR MEETING

OF THE

MARBLE ROCK CITY COUNCIL

Tuesday July 5th, 2016 7:00 P.M.

 

††††††††† The Regular Meeting of the Marble Rock City Council was called to order with Mayor Engelhardt presiding with Councilpersons Ackley, Marzen, Schmidt, C. Schriever, and T. Schriever. Mayor Engelhardt led the Pledge of Allegiance. Various Citizens were present.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to approve agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to depart from the agenda to accommodate guests. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Susan Nelson presented expenditures, grant application, powers and duties, and Memorial Park plans for councilís approval for the Park Board.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to approve $3,033.95 to be submitted on an application to the Park Board Foundation. (This will be for improvements on the powerhouse). Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded Schmidt to approve $600.00 be spent on new basketball hoops at the Park with the Park Boardís accounts. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Vicki King spoke to the council about letting the Park Board utilize the property in between the park and Scavengers Backwater Motors Inc.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to allow the Park Board to remove the concrete on the property in between the park and Scavengers Backwater Motors Inc. If it is in writing that it will be done at no charge. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded Schmidt to table Park Board appointment until next monthís meeting. Roll: Ayes- Marzen, Schmidt, C. Schriever, T. Schriever.

††††††††† MAYORíS REPORT: The Mayor took a look at the Community Center roof and itís still leaking. The plan is to look into funding to get the roof replaced.

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded Schmidt to revise City code at next monthís meeting with having the garbage/recycling fee be raised to $7.60 a month and to have the ordinance revised with limitation on large item pick up day. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded T. Schriever to reappoint Brian Chambers to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

††††††††† Mayor Engelhardt reappointed Jamie Schriever to the Library Board.

††††††††† Other items discussed- There will be low water pressure July 20th, 21st, and 22nd as they will be cleaning the water tower.
