††††††††† The Regular Meeting of the Marble Rock City Council was called to order with Mayor Engelhardt presiding with Councilpersons Ackley, Marzen, Schmidt, C. Schriever, and T. Schriever. Various citizens were present. Mayor Engelhardt led the Pledge of Allegiance.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded T. Schriever to depart from the Agenda to accommodate guests. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to allow the Park Board to remove the cement in the Memorial Park and fill it in with dirt, with no expense to the City. Roll: Ayes- Marzen, Schmidt, C. Schriever, T. Schriever. Abstain Ė Ackley. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded Schmidt to approve agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Rustin Lingbeek from SEH Yaggy spoke to Council the about the next phase of the Water Project. He will be back next month to present the Council with a plan to approve.

††††††††† Chris Diggins from NIACOG spoke to the council about the requirements to apply for a CDBG (Community Development Block Grant) grant for Phase 2 of the Water Project.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to proceed with Phase 2 of the Water Project and start conducting an income survey that is necessary to apply for the CDBG (Community Development Block Grant). Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded C. Schriever to accept the minutes March 6, 2017 regular Meeting. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

††††††††† Moved T. Schriever/seconded Ackley to have the City place $20,000.00 into a separate account for the School roof. From there, there will be an additional $20,000.00 pledged by the Bohl sisters and additional $10,000.00 pledged by the Lionís Club. The remaining non unsolicited money that is needed will be picked up by the City. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

††††††††† Moved Marzen/seconded C. Schriever to approval of Nolts Custom Concrete LLC proposal of $12,459.25 for East Main sidewalk and $4,556.00 for the sidewalk in front of Whitetails Bar and Grill. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

 

††††††††† Moved Ackley/seconded T. Schriever for approval of the Methodist Church to put a sidewalk on the North side of the church in the right of way. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.

††††††††† Other items discussed: The Park Board will be having a cleanup day on Sunday April 9th at 10a.m. to remove branches and twigs before the East Egg hunt. There will be a potluck barbeque after cleaning up.

 

††††††††† The town siren is in the process of getting fixed. The City is also in the process of trying to get it connected back to the Fire Department. The Mayor will be meeting with Omnitel and Neil Wedeking.
