MARBLE ROCK CITY COUNCIL
Monday April 2, 2018 7:00 P.M.
The Regular Meeting of the Marble Rock City Council was called to order with Mayor Engelhardt presiding with Councilpersons Ackley, Marzen, Merfeld, C. Schriever, and T. Schriever. Various citizens were present. Mayor Engelhardt led the Pledge of Allegiance.
Moved Marzen/seconded T. Schriever to approve agenda. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Sherriff Crooks and Linda Tjaden from Floyd County gave a brief presentation on the proposed new law enforcement center and updates to the court house.
Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to accept the minutes March 5, 2018 regular Meeting. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Moved Ackley/seconded Merfeld to approve the monthly reports. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Income for the month of March totaled $29,048.03 which includes: General Fund $7,845.47, Park Board $.27 Library Fund $.75, Employee Benefits $93.19, Road Revenue Fund $4,315.96, TIF Fund $21.34, Landfill-Garbage/Recycling Fund $1,244.60, Sewer Revenue Fund $3,389.17, Water Revenue Fund $12,137.28.

MAYOR’S REPORT: The Marble Rock Fun Days Committee is looking to put a storage shed up at the Community Center. A group of northern Iowa musicians used the powerhouse to film a video. They had a lot of positive feedback.
Committee Reports: Merfeld gave an update on the Park Board’s upcoming projects. They are currently in the process of getting a new sign for in front of the gazebo. They will be having another meeting April 11th, where there will be a sample sign on display.
Moved Ackley/seconded C. Schriever to have the council and Mayor volunteer to pick spring cleanup items. Reminder: that appliances and tires will NOT be picked up. Residents are allowed a 4’x8’ area and no taller than 5’. Items should NOT be set out any early than 12p.m. Saturday April 21st and NO later than 12p.m. Sunday April 20th. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Moved Marzen/seconded Ackley to approval of Stop N Shops cigarette permit. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Moved Ackley/seconded Marzen to approval of the Community Centers Liquor License renewal. Roll: Ayes- All. Carried.
Other items discussed: There has been a delay in the water project due to the old bank being classified as historical site. This requires an archeologist to overlook everything. The Mayor appointed council members to specific committees.
